ALBANIAN SKILLS TESTIMONIES – THE STUDENTS’ MOBILITY EXPERIENCES

16th January 2023

Participation in mobility has been a very successful and valuable experience for the participating students from Albanian Skills. Some of them have agreed to share with us their thoughts about their experiences in the different countries of destination.

Xhurian Shaba

I am Xhurian Shaba, a student in the 11th grade at the “Hermann Gmeiner” school, where I continue my IT studies. Like many of my peers, I also had the desire to do an internship in one of the countries of the European Union. Fortunately, the chance came through Albanian Skills, an organization that I am very grateful to for the opportunity they offered me to practice my profession for a month in Seville, Spain. I can’t find the words to describe this experience, but what I can say for sure is that this internship is a giant step in my career. Getting to know foreign cultures and everything that surrounds them such as language, food, architecture, and society was wonderful. Thanks to the wonderful work of the host organization (Incoma) and Albanian Skills, I will remember this experience forever. The workplace where I developed the internship together with another student suited my profile very well and I also learned other things that I made part of my skills portfolio. The people there were very welcoming and minimized the negative effects of the language barrier.

Flavia Hysenlliu

This experience was fantastic. I was able to form friendships that I know will last a lifetime, I had fun, and I explored one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, where I still have some tourist spots in my mind, such as Plaza de Espana, Seville Cathedral, Muse de Belle Artes, Alcazar Palace, etc., I created unforgettable memories, learned new knowledge, learned words of a new language, cooked with my roommates, communicating with local people, tried traditional foods and many, many other things that I will need in the future I will tell you. I recommend this experience to everyone. It is an unforgettable experience, full of adventure, laughter, and jokes, and moments you will never forget. A huge thanks to Ana Zaharian, Albania Skills, Intervet WB, and Incoma.- Flavia Hysenlliu, Austrian ICT School “Hermann Gmeiner” TiranaThis experience was fantastic. Darti Lila

Hi, I’m Darti Lila, an 18-year-old studying at the Harry Fultz Institute in the electronics major. The one-month period in Milano was fantastic for me. During this time at the company where I worked, I developed more of my programming skills and gained a lot of new knowledge. The employees there were very friendly and became like family to me. Milan is a beautiful city and I don’t think I need to describe it for you to imagine its grandeur. The Duomo Cathedral towered above the old buildings, giving an amazing opportunity to those who climbed to see the whole city from one end to the other. It was simply fantastic, I am very happy that I had the opportunity to live such an experience.

Rubin Vrapi

I am Rubin Vrapi, a Sali Ceka vocational school student, living in Elbasan. I was informed about the Intervet project by the teachers at my school and I gained mobility in Seville, Spain. Seville was a very big and beautiful city. The inhabitants of Seville were very friendly and belonged to an old and interesting culture for every visitor. The place where I did my internship was a restaurant and I did graphic design and video editing. For me, this was a new and very important experience because through it I understood what it means to work and live without the family. This opportunity offered me new knowledge and some new friends with whom I had a great time until the last moments. This experience did not affect my educational process and I have suggested this project to many of my peers because it has social and professional benefits.

Firdeus Kasaj

I am Firdeus Kasaj, a student in the 12th grade at the Hermann Gmeiner school. In the journey of knowledge, I had dreamed of being part of new experiences and internships, where, in addition to expanding knowledge, we had the opportunity to get to know new countries, with different cultures. I was selected to be a part of “El Garbo de Greta” a website and e-commerce company. The name sounded like a theater or typical cinema movie title. Francisco Javierr Gutierrez Gandia, the head of the company with a name that sounded with a special musicality, had created for me the comfort of working as a member not only of the workgroup but of a real family. Every day I had to take public transport and report at 9:30 to the company. Working in the company gave me the opportunity to explore, develop my opinion, and above all learn a lot, and above all learn how to be part of a workgroup.

Fiori Kateshi

I feel very privileged to have grabbed this opportunity with both hands! It all started after receiving confirmation for the internship program in Spain, Seville from Intervet WB. I suddenly realized that this would be one of the biggest challenges I have ever had to face. It was scary, but also exciting to think that I would be a foreign student for a month, especially since it would also be my first time leaving my country on my own. I am now able to see it as a learning curve for my life as well as an absolutely fantastic experience that I cherished and loved every minute of it. I really got involved in the atmosphere created by the Erasmus students and society. The orientation program gave me the opportunity to learn more about Spanish culture, and the beautiful city of Seville and also helped me meet and interact with people who would become friends and part of my Erasmus family during that month! Amisa Topalli

Hello! My name is Amisa Topalli and I am in my third year at the “Hermann Gmeiner” vocational high school. During this experience I learned how to use a 3D printer and its specifics, I got into WordPress which I didn’t know before. This is an experience that I have suggested to all my peers as it only comes once in a lifetime and is a good stepping stone for our young careers.

Experience of the Group Leader Sibora in Seville

I am Sibora Lohja, and I study in the field of Medicine. One day I saw an announcement from the “Albanian Skills” organization for a 1-month project, in which a team leader was needed for students who would do internships in Seville.

This experience has developed me in many aspects of life. It has taught me how to live independently, to take care not only of myself, but also of 10 students, how to adapt to new cities and cultures, and how to behave like a Spanish girl. The culture, architecture, history of the city, kind and friendly people, are things that really make me think about my life in Seville in the future.

The company of 10 students, aged 16-19, was an exciting experience for me. I have faced 10 different personalities, trying to adapt to each of them and understand their thoughts and inner world. The students have been very cooperative in this aspect. We really enjoyed our stay there.
